Discussion ‘No Longer Ethnographic? Self-Critique and Recursive Inquiry in the Museum’

On September 25, at 7 p.m., a discussion entitled No Longer Ethnographic? Self-Critique and Recursive Inquiry in the Museum, will take place at Garage, Moscow. Clémentine Deliss, cultural historian, educator, and associate curator at the KW Institute of Contemporary Art, Berlin, and Vlad Strukov, researcher, editor-in-chief of The Garage Journal and associate professor of the University of Leeds, UK, will offer a critique of European ethnographic museums, their potential and inherent limitations. The event will mark the publication of the Russian translation of Deliss’s book The Metabolic Museum (Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, 2021).
